Strategic Business Groups What It Is: · A group of business owners in non-competing industries attend facilitated monthly peer mentoring/strategizing sessions. Benefits: · Relieve the “lonely at the top” syndrome through interaction with your peers. · Meet with your own personal advisory board composed of other business owners from non-competing industries. · Discuss your business opportunities and issues in a confidential, supportive environment. · Set and work toward concrete goals, aided by the input of your peers and your facilitator. · For those selecting Option B, receive an hour of one-on-one counseling per month from your facilitator. How It Works: · Under non-disclosure agreements, group members share their business experience and expertise, with the goal of helping each other grow their companies. · By providing feedback, training, and process parameters, the facilitator aids the group members in working on their business. The group works on a wide range of relevant business-related topics. Some of the topics include internet marketing, selling and the sales process, financial statements, marketing topics, etc. · Each member is responsible for setting and reporting on monthly goals, as well as engaging in the activities required by the strategic planning process. · Agendas are structured to provide time for discussion, reporting and setting goals, and working on business-related training. "After belonging to other business groups over the years, joining the Strategic Business Group was a real breath of fresh air. I love this group - the other entrepreneurs have similar challenges, and while we bounce lots of ideas back and forth, Carole mediates the whole thing and keeps track of how the sessions go, so it all moves along at the pace most business owners expect."
Pedro Castro, Principal Magellan Architects
"I've talked about growing my business for 10 years, but it wasn't until I joined the Strategic Business Group that I started getting serious about it. Now I get lots of ideas from other business owners, and its helping me be accountable. I highly recommend joining a group like this."
Beth Dewey, President Plant Connections, Inc.
